Advance Copy of Paul Chaplo 's Book Marfa Flights: Aerial Views of Big Bend Country

"It’s epic."
-Denise Gamino, journalist
The advance copy of the "Marfa Flights: Aerial Views of Big Bend Country" book has arrived from Texas A&M University Press. The qualities of the printing and color are wonderful. After years of this labor of love, and with the help of many talented people, the experience of holding the book in my hands is beyond words! Thank you to everyone who made the Marfa Flights project possible!

The release of the Marfa Flights: Aerial Views of Big Bend Country book from Texas A&M University Press will featured at the opening of a concurrent exhibition of large format photographs from the book at the Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. The opening will be accompanied by a book signing. The event is free to the public.

The Marfa Flights exhibit will show Texas-sized color aerial art landscape photographs taken by Paul Chaplo during perilous flights over the forbidding and austerely beautiful border lands.

The Museum of the Big Bend will also host a panel discussion about the book and project, bringing together a unique group of experts to discuss the Marfa Flights project and Big Bend from the viewpoints of pilot, National Park Service, historian, and geologist.
